SavageMan Triathlon Announces $15,000 Big Savage Challenge Prize Purse

$15,000 Prize Purse for 3 Days of Racing

The SavageMan Triathlon Festival will once again host the Big Savage Challenge with a $15,000 prize purse for athletes that complete 3 days of racing. The Big Savage Challenge starts with a swim-run prologue on Friday, an Olympic distance triathlon on Saturday and finally the famed SavageMan Long Course triathlon on Sunday. Only those who complete all 3 days of racing will be eligible for a portion of the prize purse ($2500 / $2000 / $1500 / $1000 / $500).

SavageMan 2019 saw Alycia Hill of Salt Lake City, UT take the women’s title with a cumulative time of 8:05:40 and Tim Russell of Ballston Spa, NY take the men’s title with a cumulative time of 7:34:19.

Friday September 17 – SavageMan Swim-Run Prologue
Athletes will complete 3 loops of a 250 meter swim and 1 mile run course, it’s super fast and super fun!

Saturday September 18 – SavageMan Olympic and Sprint
Big Savage Challenge athletes will tackle the Olympic distance course with a 22.9 mile bike offering 2000’ of climbing.

Sunday September 19 – SavageMan Long Course
After completing a 1.2 mile swim in beautiful Deep Creek Lake, athletes will embark on a challenging 55.7 mile bike course with 6000’ of climbing and a 7 mile climb over the Eastern Continental Divide before tackling a 13.1 mile run in Deep Creek Lake State Park.
