Runners encouraged to celebrate Inspiration4 launch by joining Inspiration4 Miler virtual run for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

August 11, 2021

Space fans can gear up, run during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Aug. 11, 2021) – The launch of the all-civilian mission to space this September is taking Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to new heights for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. In celebration of this momentous occasion, EnMotive is holding a virtual run called Inspiration4  Miler benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to support the campaign’s $200 million fundraising goal for kids with childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Registration for this out-of-this-world fitness event goes through Sept. 30. To coincide with the expected September launch of the Inspiration4 shuttle, participants can complete their virtual run between Aug.30- Sept. 30 and join tens of thousands of other fitness enthusiasts—many of whom are donors or fundraisers for St. Jude—who have made their workout mean more by helping St. Jude kids.

Because the run is virtual in nature, the Inspiration4 Miler can be done whenever, wherever and however a participant is inspired to complete it. That could be on a sidewalk, path, treadmill or track while pushing a stroller, walking a pet, running 4 miles or challenging a family member to a friendly four-event track and field competition. For this run, participants can begin logging their efforts once they register.

The only time speed matters is when it comes to fundraising for St. Jude. The top fundraiser as of 11:59 p.m. Aug. 29, 2021, will win a trip for two to the Inspiration4 launch party taking place Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, in Cape Canaveral, Florida, to see the historic shuttle launch in person.

All registered participants will receive a runner kit with a commemorative Inspiration4 finisher medal, a quarter zip pullover and an adjustable baseball cap.

Inspiration4 is not only a journey to space but also a cause for humanity – organized to help kids here on Earth. In 1962, the same year an American orbited the Earth for the first time, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital committed to a different kind of uncharted territory: Finding cures. Saving children.® Nearly 60 years later, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the official charity partner for the Hot Chocolate Series and other fitness events fueled by EnMotive.

Registration for the Inspiration4 Miler is $40. To sign up for the Inspiration4 Miler benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, visit inspiration4miler.com.
