• Online registration is open for all race distances: Olympic, Classic and Long Course • Special early bird pricing available through Wednesday, March 18 at malibutri.com • 34th annual Malibu Triathlon presented by Bank of America set for September 26-27

Malibu, CA – The Malibu Triathlon presented by Bank of America opened registration for the Olympic and Classic distance events today. One of the most prestigious triathlons in the world, race weekend annually welcomes 5,000 athletes to one of the planet’s most beautiful places to swim, bike and run.

The Malibu Triathlon is comprised of three race distances over two days of events, taking place the weekend of September 26-27, 2020 at Zuma Beach. All races showcase one of triathlon’s most spectacular courses and feature a swim off the gorgeous Malibu coastline, a bike route along California’s Pacific Coast Highway and a scenic beachfront run to sounds of crashing waves and cheering spectators.

For the first time last year, event weekend debuted a sold-out long course distance event that proved to be wildly successful. The long course event will return in 2020 and the race is again expected to sell-out. Athletes interested in registering for the Olympic and Sprint distances races are encouraged to take advantage of special early entry pricing through Wednesday, March 18.

The event helps support the Pediatric Cancer Research Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Over the history of the partnership, the Malibu Triathlon has raised over $15 million to benefit cancer research programs at CHLA’s Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases.

Malibu Tri weekend begins with packet pick up and fitness expo where all participants go to pick up their race number, t-shirt and drop their bike. The ultimate triathlon experience takes place at Zuma Beach on Friday, September 25 and will feature booths and exhibits from fitness retailers, and a full series of interactive clinics.
