Collin Dylla Wins RRCA West Regional Championship, Sets Mile Record of 4:06
TUCSON, AZ /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – On a hot Tucson night with temperatures in the low 90’s the 20th Anniversary of the TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k Night Run/Walk and Festival of Miles officially solidified its legacy as one of Arizona’s premier running events, drawing a massive crowd of over 2,300 to the streets of Downtown Tucson this past Saturday night.
Serving as the RRCA West Regional One Mile Championship, the fast, flat downtown course delivered electric competition, a vibrant block party atmosphere, and a major windfall for Southern Arizona charities. The landmark anniversary attracted participants from 20 different U.S. states and three countries.
Elite Champions Take Home the $2,500 Purse
The race for the finish line was fierce as top-tier athletes from across the region battled it out for the prestigious regional titles.

TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k
- Men’s 5k Champion: Terrence Keys with an impressive time of 15:33.3
- Women’s 5k Champion: Stephanie Pierce capturing the title with a time 18:17.97
- Non-Binary: Adam Perry took first in the non-binary division in 19:12.
Youth Running Celebration
The winner of the Running Shop High School Mile by HOKA was recent Catalina High School graduate, Emiliano Caldera in a new course record of 4:28.50, taking the record from Salpointe’s Aric Accetta. Ana Paula Nunez from Rio Rico took first in 6:02 for the girls.
SAR FitKidz Mile
Connor Edmondson (12) from Oro Valley took first place in the SAR FitKidz Mile, in 6:11.20, with 8-year-old Hazel Latt crossing the line in 7:54 to place first for girls.
A Great Night for Local Nonprofits
Beyond the athletic achievements, the community came together to raise funds for local education, wellness, and leadership organizations. This year’s event successfully generated and distributed $10,500 directly back into the community, including:
- $4,000 to the BEYOND Foundation, supporting multi-generational community health and wellness.
- $4,000 to the Southern Arizona Runners (SAR), supporting local running programs and youth fitness.
- $2,000 to the Children’s Museum Tucson, the official staging host of the event.
- $700 to Greater Tucson Leadership (GTL), developing the next generation of regional leaders.
“To hit our 20th year with over 2,500 registrants and such incredible multi-state and international representation is a testament to the spirit of Tucson,” said Race Director Randy Accetta. “We are incredibly proud to celebrate two decades of fitness, fun, and giving back to the vital nonprofits that shape our community.”
