PUMA and The San Francisco Marathon Announce Multi-Year Partnership

PUMA will be the official apparel and footwear sponsor of the San Francisco Marathon Beginning 2023

San Francisco, California, June 8, 2023 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Global sports company PUMA and Jumping Fences, Inc., the event producer of the San Francisco Marathon, announced today a three-year partnership focused on supporting the local running community and celebrating the monumental course. This partnership marks PUMA’s first-ever apparel and footwear sponsorship for a US marathon.

The San Francisco Marathon’s rich history and commitment to the local community allows us to engage with runners in an authentic way and continue making strides in the category.”

The partnership will include event sponsorship of all the weekend races and exclusive footwear and apparel rights. PUMA will also be the lead sponsor of the San Francisco Marathon’s Run365 Training Program, one of the largest training programs in the Bay Area. The 8-week long program kicked-off on Saturday, May 27th offering a space for the running community to train in group runs no matter their experience level.

With a long history of delivering top-grade performance footwear for track and field events, in 2021 PUMA saw a chance to disrupt the performance road running category and decided to re-enter full speed with the launch of the NITRO foam technology. NITRO foam provides superior responsiveness and cushioning in a lightweight package for all types of runners. Since then, the brand has sponsored some of the fastest long-distance US female runners, like 2021 Olympic bronze medalists Molly Siedel, Sara Vaughn and Dakotah Lindwurm. In time for the 2024 San Francisco Marathon, PUMA will release a limited-edition NITRO style in the San Francisco Marathon colors as well as apparel that will be available to purchase at the Health and Fitness Expo.
