New Owners, Same Great Races: Wicked Fast Race Co. Acquires Seven Beloved South Shore Road Races

January 29, 2026

Local favorites continue with RaceWire timing and management, upgraded registration experience launches in 2026

South Shore, Massachusetts — January 29, 2026 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – A new chapter is underway for seven of the South Shore of Massachusetts’ most popular road race events. Wicked Fast Race Co. has officially acquired the St. Pat’s Day 5K, Run Through the Pines Half Marathon & 5K, Beach and Back Half Marathon & 5K, Beantown Marathon, Oktoberfest 5K, South Shore Half Marathon & 5K, and Cousin Eddie’s Christmas Run 5K from Stack Endurance.

The newly formed company, Wicked Fast Race Co. (www.wickedfastraces.com), will serve as the owner and operator of the events moving forward, with a focus on preserving the races’ strong local roots while enhancing the overall runner experience. Importantly, all of these events take place along Massachusetts’ scenic South Shore, giving participants beautiful coastal and community-focused courses.

RaceWire, the long-time timing and race management partner for these events, will continue to handle timing, operations, and on-site execution.

“That was non-negotiable for us,” said Jamie Smith, Founder & CEO of Wicked Fast Race Co. “RaceWire has built incredible trust in these communities. Runners know the team, they know the quality, and they know what to expect. Our goal is continuity where it matters most — and thoughtful improvements where they help athletes the most.”

Fresh Leadership, Renewed Vision

Wicked Fast Race Co. was founded by Jamie Smith, former Director of Experiential Marketing at Stack Sports and Founder & CEO of Top Score Sports & Events.

Smith brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and community engagement, including over five years working directly in the endurance sports industry helping manage, market, and grow this series of events, as well as multiple other events across the country.

“These races already have great bones — strong participation, loyal runners, and deep community ties,” said Smith. “We’re not here to reinvent them. We’re here to protect what makes them special, support the teams that run them, and most importantly, ensure every participant has a wicked awesome race experience.”

What Is Changing: A Better Registration Experience

One immediate upgrade participants will notice is a new registration platform.

All seven events will transition from the legacy GetMeRegistered system to Race Roster, one of the leading race registration platforms in the endurance industry.

The change will provide:

  • A faster, more mobile-friendly registration process
  • Easier transfers, deferrals, and participant management
  • Improved communication leading up to race day
  • A smoother experience for teams, families, and repeat runners

“Our goal is to remove friction,” Smith said. “Registering, managing your entry, and getting race information should be simple and stress-free. Race Roster helps us deliver that.”

Events Included in the Acquisition

All seven events take place along or near the beautiful South Shore of Massachusetts, giving runners scenic coastal and community-focused courses:

  • St. Pat’s Day 5K at Mayflower Brewing, Plymouth, MA
  • Run Through the Pines Half Marathon & 5K at Myles Standish State Park, Carver, MA
  • Beach and Back Half Marathon & 5K in Marshfield, MA
  • Beantown Marathon in Hingham, MA (Last Boston Marathon Qualifier of the year)
  • Oktoberfest 5K at Mayflower Brewing, Plymouth, MA

Looking Ahead

  • Expanded community partnerships
  • New sponsorship opportunities for local and regional brands
  • Enhanced runner communication and content
  • Long-term charitable and community initiatives
  • Subtle race-day experience improvements driven by participant feedback
  • A Wicked Fun race experience!

“We want these races to be something communities are proud of,” said Smith. “If you’ve run one of them before, you should feel right at home. If it’s your first time, we want it to become a race you come back to every year.”

Event updates and registration links will be available at www.wickedfastraces.com as each race opens for registration.
