Milwaukee Marathon Announces Milwaukee Journal Sentinel As Title Sponsor

February 9, 2026

Milwaukee, WI (February 9, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ USA TODAY NETWORK Ventures, part of USA TODAY Co., Inc. (NYSE: TDAY) announced that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is now the title sponsor of the city’s marquee spring running weekend, renamed the Journal Sentinel Milwaukee Marathon.

The 2026 race weekend features a Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday, April 11, 2026, followed by the 5K on Sunday, April 12, 2026. All courses are road races; the marathon and half marathon are USATF-certified and Boston-qualifying, with a lakeside route and a festive finish at Humboldt Park.

“We’re thrilled to connect Wisconsin’s most trusted news source with Milwaukee’s signature running weekend,” said Nate Scott, Vice President, Sports Strategy & Events, USA TODAY Co. “Aligning with the Journal Sentinel will elevate the runner experience, deepen community ties, and celebrate the joy of movement across Greater Milwaukee.”

As the title sponsor, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will continue its unparallelled event storytelling, community engagement, and race-week coverage, aligning the marathon with the Journal Sentinel’s long-standing commitment to serving local readers and neighborhoods throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

“We are excited about our role in the event and the visibility it will bring to our top-notch community-driven coverage,” said Greg Borowski, Executive Editor of the Journal Sentinel. “We have many runners in the newsroom, myself included, and we look forward to seeing everyone on the course and at the finish line.”

“Aligning with the Milwaukee Marathon was a natural fit for our brand,” said Bryan Arnold, General Manager of the Journal Sentinel. “It’s one of the premier endurance events in our community, and this sponsorship creates meaningful value for both the race and our readers.”
