“We definitely pride ourselves on being a small but mighty team. With only about 10 full-time employees, we have created a system that allows us to work with some of the largest and prestigious endurance events in the world while also delivering high-quality results,” said Brad Kroll, president of MarathonFoto. “We understand the importance of capturing these memorable moments for each and every runner, and look forward to continuing to grow these numbers!”
MarathonFoto’s commitment to deliver notable results and contribute to the local community was reflected in a recent survey the company conducted. The survey revealed that over 47% of people believe that MarathonFoto is a large corporation, yet their team is made up of just about 10 full-time employees, based out of small-town Washington, Iowa. The same survey also found that 73% of respondents were unaware that MarathonFoto is charitable, yet MarathonFoto is often one of the largest contributors of dollars back to fan favorite races, giving back $3.7 million in 2024 alone to support partner events and their charitable causes.
Some additional events that MarathonFoto captured in 2025 included the Chevron Houston Marathon, United Airlines New York City Half Marathon, Bank of America Boston Marathon and the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon.
As a part of MarathonFoto’s client work, a portion of their proceeds is consistently reinvested into the industry. In 2024, MarathonFoto gave back $3.7 million to its partner events, supporting sport growth and allowing for greater giving to events’ charitable partners.
