Malibu Triathlon Launches Virtual Races To Support CHLA

The Malibu Triathlon presented by Bank of America has launched a FREE virtual event to keep athletes competing and raising vital funds for pediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).

The Virtual Malibu Triathlon & Duathlon presented by Bank of America will take place over the original event weekend of September 26-27 with participants able to race across a range of distances.

Distances are:

  • Olympic Triathlon – 1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run
  • Olympic Duathlon – 3K run, 40K bike, 10K run
  • Classic Triathlon – ½ Mile swim, 17-mile bike, 4-mile run
  • Classic Duathlon – 1-mile run, 17-mile bike, 4-mile run

Registration is completely free and participants can race from anywhere and submit their time between September 26 5am PST-September 27 5pm PST.

There is also the option to raise money for pediatric cancer research at CHLA. All fundraising tiers come with a bonus reward as a mark of gratitude from the organizers:

  • Raise $100 – Exclusive event t-shirt and medal
  • Raise $250 – CHLA branded Gator
  • Raise $500 – CHLA branded beach towel
  • Raise $750 – Race Belt

Since it was established the Malibu Triathlon has raised over $15 million to benefit the Basic and Translational Cancer Research Program of the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
