March 18, 2022

The event will take place June 14th-19th, giving athletes the opportunity to test themselves before the 2022 UCI Masters Track World Championships in September.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. /ENURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – USA Cycling announced on Friday that the 2022 Masters Track National Championships will head to Indianapolis, June 14-19, 2022. The USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships were previously held at the Major Taylor Velodrome back in 2016.

“We are excited to return to the Major Taylor Velodrome for Masters Track Nationals after a five-year break. With this summer date, athletes will be able to use Nationals as a check-in for the home soil UCI Masters Track World Championships in September. We are looking forward to another week of great racing in Indy,” commented Tara McCarthy, USA Cycling’s Director of National Events.

The six-day event will hold both endurance and sprint events for athletes ages 35 and older. The Major Taylor Velodrome, home of the Marian University Knights, will also be hosting the 2022 USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships later this year.

“We are very pleased to be hosting another national-level event at the Indy Cycloplex this season,” remarked Michael Kubancsek, Director of Cycling Operations for Marian University. “We look forward to seeing even more of the American track cycling community at the Major Taylor Velodrome this year, especially in the year celebrating the velodrome’s 40th anniversary.”
