Lace Up for Veteran’s in Maine!

April 27, 2022

Race for a cause at Rick's Run in Maine and virtually this Memorial Day weekend!

April 27, 2022/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – On Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 9am, Rick’s Run 5k walk/run will host runners locally at Spring Hill in South Berwick, Maine and virtually around the country.   Over the past 6 years, Rick’s Run 5k has become a community favorite event, raising funds for  Veterans Forward (formally Veterans Count) which provides funds for Maine Veterans.  With awards for all ages and an awesome post race party that is second to none,  Rick’s Run 5k is the event to kick off your Memorial Day weekend in a positive and active way for a good cause.

Rick’s Run 5k was created in memory of Richard A. Roy. Rick was a Vietnam Veteran who suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) and lived with it day in and day out until he passed. He served this country and all who knew and loved him saw the emotional, hidden wounds of that sacrifice. We are learning more and more about how to help veterans with PTSD, and this race will be donating 100% of the proceeds to Veterans Forward.

For this year only, Rick’s Run 5k will be on a Saturday morning at 9am.  Following the in person event will be a post race brunch that will leave you full and ready to celebrate the weekend festivities.  Like all events produced by Forward Motion Events, you will experience a race with a tremendous amount of community, inclusivity, motivation and gratitude.  “Our goal with all of our events is to provide an opportunity to race for a purpose and help you feel welcome- whether you are competitive or are there for the community aspect,”  said daughter of Rick, race owner and race director Rachel Martin.  “All are welcome, and we will make you feel empowered to stay active and contribute to the greater good,” continued Rachel.

Registration is open for the in person and virtual event.  Learn more and register HERE
