KeyBank Named Title Partner of the Run for a Reason Charity Program for the 2024 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon

Since 2009, charity runners have raised more than $16.5 million for local, national and global causes

PITTSBURGH, PA (January 19, 2024) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – P3R, the engine behind Pittsburgh’s most exhilarating sporting events, has announced that KeyBank has been named title partner of the Run for a Reason Charity Program for the 2024 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events. More than 2,700 charity runners are expected to raise more than $1.5 million for the program this year.

Since P3R launched the Run for a Reason Charity Program in 2009, participants in the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events have raised more than $16.5 million for local, national and global causes. This year individuals who participate in the program can choose from more than 40 official Run for Reason charity partners and participate in any of the eight events during the 2024 race weekend, scheduled for May 3-5.

“The Run for a Reason program empowers me to give back to the nonprofit that helped me through my cancer recovery and enables me to get my friends and family involved with the cause,” said Erin Miller, who is a charity runner for the Young Adults Survivors United. “This opportunity gives my friends and family the chance to feel like they are part of my ongoing cancer survivorship and to help others. It’s a win-win.”

KeyBank, which has 40 branch locations in the Greater Pittsburgh area, also will be the presenting partner of the Charity Mile located on the 2024 Pittsburgh Marathon course. This mile will celebrate and cheer on charity runners who run for causes close to their hearts.

The Pittsburgh BACK Half Marathon, exclusive to charity runners and those who wish to contribute to official Run for a Reason charities, will return again this year. Celebrating the achievements of charity runners, the event starts in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, at the midway point of the 26.2 mile marathon course. Participants will enjoy an unforgettable experience with a unique medal and special race day bib.
