J&A Racing Announces Exciting New Spring Date For The Virginia Beach 10 Miler & 5K

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA (August 27, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – J&A Racing, a premier race event company known for producing world-class running events, today announced an exciting update for one of its sellout flagship events. The Virginia Beach 10 Miler & 5K presented by Sentara will move from its traditional Labor Day weekend to Saturday, May 9, 2026.

By moving the event to May, participants, spectators and volunteers will have the opportunity to enjoy Virginia Beach’s iconic oceanfront course amid the area’s most pleasant weather. The move aligns the event with a vibrant time of year in the coastal Virginia community, perfect for a fast and fun event and a celebratory weekend.

“We have worked closely with our partners at the City of Virginia Beach to find the perfect weekend to host this growing event,” said Race Director Jerry Frostick. “Moving to May is a great time to showcase our hometown, ahead of the summer heat. We anticipate another great weekend, filled with everyone enjoying the beautiful beach background, with celebrations continuing at the iconic post-race beach party.”

The Virginia Beach 10 Miler presented by Sentara has become a favorite for its scenic, USATF-certified course that tours through the Oceanfront on Atlantic and Pacific Avenues, the view from Rudee Inlet, and finishes with a breathtaking stretch along the Atlantic Ocean boardwalk. The accompanying 5K offers a festive and accessible option for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Both races will culminate in a vibrant finish line celebration on the beach.

The event will continue to feature the popular Beach Bum Challenge. This special, cheeky award is presented to participants who complete one of the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend events (Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, Sentara Shamrock Half Marathon, or TowneBank Shamrock 8K) in March 2026 and either the Virginia Beach 10 Miler or 5K in May 2026.
