The mental training approaches revealed in One Day Better have launched, lifted, or extended the careers of hundreds of pro athletes who are household names. Equipped with these concepts from Jeff Troesch, coaches, athletes, and youth sports parents can explore proven techniques for how to focus, reduce anxiety, boost confidence, overcome a performance slump, develop resilience, tighten discipline, and stoke motivation so they can go the distance or make the play, season after season.

One Day Better shares ideas that have helped elite amateur and pro athletes gain a mental edge. Troesch distills the principles of mental discipline into clear lessons that can drive long-term personal development and immediate gains in performance, helping athletes and coaches navigate common scenarios:

  • How to regain focus amid distractions
  • Managing pressure when the stakes feel high
  • How to build self-belief and confidence
  • Ways to cope with destructive self-talk
  • Managing emotions during training and competition

After working with thousands of athletes from all levels of ability, Troesch says everyone has a unique path to stronger mental performance. One Day Better is a playbook for the mind, revealing ways coaches, athletes, and sports-minded parents can ask the relevant questions, adopt effective sports psychology principles, and elevate the mental game. By applying these proven mental performance concepts, athletes can become one day better, every day.
