Ambition to drive record-breaking charity fundraising in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon
October 22, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The organisers of the Dublin Marathon and charity partner realbuzz have announced an extension of their partnership until 2030. This extension reflects their shared commitment to making the Irish Life Dublin Marathon one of Europe’s largest fundraising marathons.
Since they first collaborated in 2022, both organisations have focused on a single mission: to empower runners to make every mile count by raising vital funds for charities in Ireland and around the world.
In 2025, over 150 charities are participating in the official charity programme, supported by nearly 2,500 runners from Ireland and abroad who are fundraising as part of dedicated charity teams. The goal is to expand this to more than 300 charities in coming years. In 2025, the charity runners participating through the realbuzz programme are expected to raise over €5 million, with overall fundraising set to reach more than €9M for this year’s event.
Seán O’Riain, Chief Executive Officer of the Dublin Marathon said: “The Irish Life Dublin Marathon has always been about more than running, it’s about people coming together to make a difference. Our partnership with realbuzz has been instrumental in growing the event’s fundraising impact, connecting thousands of runners with causes that matter deeply to them. Extending this collaboration to 2030, allows us to build on that success and continue our journey to make the Dublin Marathon one of Europe’s largest and most inspiring fundraising events.”
Nick Hollowood, Chief Commercial Officer at realbuzz said: “We’re incredibly proud to extend our partnership with the Dublin Marathon organisers through to 2030. This event has a remarkable spirit of community and generosity, and together we’re empowering even more runners to make a meaningful impact through fundraising. We’re excited to continue building on the incredible momentum already achieved.”
