Cody Beals (CAN) And Sarah True (USA) Claim Victories At 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman

Over 2,000 athletes took to the Choptank River and Coastal Dorchester County for popular and longstanding IRONMAN 70.3 event

CAMBRIDGE, Md. (June 12, 2022) – Cambridge, Maryland and Dorchester County provided a stunning backdrop for the 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman. With some of triathlon’s best on hand, Cody Beals (CAN) took the men’s top honors with a finishing time of 3:41:47 while Sarah True (USA) earned the topped the women’s race with a time of 4:03:52.

Finishing on the men’s professional podium was Justin Metzler (USA), who came in second with a finish time of 3:42:51 and Andy Potts (USA) who posted a 3:44:47 finishing time that was good for third place. On the female side, Tamara Jewett (CAN) took second in 4:05:05, while Sophie Watts (USA) finished in third with a time of 4:05:35.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman triathlon saw more than 2,000 athletes start the race. Competitors ranged in age from 18-84 years old. Athletes kicked off their 70.3-mile journey with a 1.2-mile swim in the Choptank River before athletes embarked on the flat bike course through the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge allowing athletes to test their cadence while taking in scenic vistas. Athletes widened their stride during the 13.1-mile run until they hit the finish line in Gerry Boyle Park. The event offered a professional prize purse of $30,000 and 75 age group qualifying slots to the 2022 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship presented by Utah Sports Commission in St. George, Utah.
