Challenged Athletes Foundation Hosts Virtual 2021 Heroes of Sport Celebration With Surprise Moments Featuring Professional Athletes

WHAT: On Thursday, April 29th, viewers around the world will have the opportunity to tune in online for the Challenged Athletes Foundation 2021 Heroes of Sport Celebration on Facebook, Instagram and You Tube. Viewers will experience firsthand how physically challenged athletes become stronger through sport. Several surprise moments will be revealed including the likes of NBA Star Zion Williamson, Landon Donovan, Gwen Jorgensen, Lucy Charles and David Goggins as they touch the lives of some 2021 grant recipients.
Join CAF co-founder and chief storyteller, Bob Babbitt, and CAF leaders Kristine Entwistle and Travis Ricks in this emotional evening as they share stories of resilience, hope, perseverance and joy during one of the most difficult times in history. Learn how many have turned to sport to stay anchored and CAF’s continued support through the pandemic and beyond.
WHY: For over 27 years, CAF has provided grants for the adaptive sports equipment, training, and competition expenses needed to participate and compete, and CAF camps and clinics provide critical instruction and community needed to thrive. This past March 2021, CAF was able to fund all qualified applicants – making it the most meaningful grant distribution in the foundation’s history. 3,038 individual grants were made possible by last year’s fundraising of $5.1 million. The virtual 2021 Heroes of Sport Celebration aims to raise critical funds ensure CAF support is available in the future.
