INDIANAPOLIS (January 16, 2020) –The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, today announces that Carissa Galloway will serve as the announcer at the 2020 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and the Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K.

Galloway is a Boston and Orlando based Registered Dietitian with a diverse background in nutrition, fitness, and television hosting. She has served as a race announcer for 15 years and has announced more than 250 races. Her most notable races include the runDisney events, OUC Orlando Half Marathon, Iron Girl Clearwater Half Marathon, and the Track Shack Running Series. The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon will be Galloway’s first race in Indianapolis.

“Carissa is a recognized voice in the racing industry as the announcer for some incredible productions,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO of the 500 Festival. “Participants will be reinvigorated as they make their way through the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon finish line on May 2. We’re looking forward to this next chapter of the Indy Mini with Galloway at the microphone.”

As the official announcer, Galloway will serve as additional support and encouragement for participants, as well as entertainment, building hype for spectators as well.

“The people who cross the finish line have just accomplished an incredible feat, and deserve high-energy entertainment as they complete this iconic race,” said Galloway. “I’m excited to lend my voice in the Hoosier state for the Greatest Spectacle in Running.”

Now through March 1, the 2020 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon registration fee is $79. Registration for the Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K is $40. Participants looking for extra mileage can register for the Challenges. Pricing will continue to increase throughout the spring.
