BMW Dallas Marathon Opens 2026 Registration Ahead of Milestone 55th Year
April 29, 2026
DALLAS (April 29, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Building on the momentum of a successful race weekend this past December, registration for the 2026 BMW Dallas Marathon opens May 1 as the event prepares to celebrate its 55th anniversary and what is expected to be one of its most anticipated race weekends to date.
As excitement builds for the marathon’s annual return, this year is already generating strong momentum across the running community, with participants preparing for race weekend set for December 11–13, 2026.
“We’re excited to open registration for 2026 as we celebrate our 55th anniversary year,” said Jason Schuchard, President of the Dallas White Rock Marathon. “This is a milestone moment for both the event and the city of Dallas. Each year brings new energy and enthusiasm from the community, and we look forward to building on that excitement as we actively plan for this year’s race weekend.”
Produced by the nonprofit Dallas White Rock Marathon, the event has been a cornerstone of the running community since 1971, promoting health and physical fitness through running and related activities. It has grown into Dallas’ largest marathon and Texas’ longest-running marathon, featuring a full weekend of events for participants of all ages and abilities, including a Half Marathon, 50K Ultra Marathon, 5-Person Relay, 10K, 5K, 5K Team Challenge, the Friday Night Lights Mile and various Kids Races.
The courses highlight the best of the city, guiding participants through Dallas’ most vibrant neighborhoods, entertainment districts and iconic landmarks. On race weekend, tens of thousands of spectators line the streets, creating an energetic, citywide celebration. Race day—held annually on the second Sunday of December—has become a signature tradition, with the event recognized as the official marathon of the City of Dallas.
The event also continues to make a meaningful impact on the broader community. Since naming Scottish Rite for Children as its primary beneficiary in 1997, the marathon has donated nearly $5 million to support pediatric orthopedic care and research.
“The BMW Dallas Marathon continues to build momentum year after year,” said Logan Sherman, Dallas White Rock Marathon Board Chairman. “We look forward to welcoming runners, families, and spectators back to Dallas this December for another memorable weekend.”
With the anticipation of strong participation in 2026, a new dynamic pricing model will be introduced where registration fees will increase incrementally as runner registrations increase. This structure is designed to encourage early registration as the best opportunity to secure lower entry rates, with continued strong interest anticipated for the upcoming race weekend.
Participants can register beginning May 1 and are encouraged to do so early, as pricing will adjust throughout the registration period.
