Beyond Monumental Launches The Road To Lady Victory – A Monumental Challenge
December 15, 2020
INDIANAPOLIS – (December 15, 2020) – Beyond Monumental has launched a new virtual fitness challenge for 2021. The Road To Lady Victory – A Monumental Challenge, is a 331-mile, 5-month virtual event that encourages participants to run, walk, bike or swim their way through 330 miles of activity before completing their journey at the Monumental Mile event in June. The distance of 331 miles was chosen because it represents the total number of steps within the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Downtown Indianapolis, leading up to Lady Victory who sits at the top.
Participants will receive a total of five rewards, packaged in monthly shipments, which will include running gloves, a running beanie, a neck gaiter, and a lightweight performance running hoody. Complimentary registration for the 2021 Monumental Mile is also included, for either in-person or virtual participation. Free shipping is included for all items.
“Training and motivation through the winter months can be challenging, even without a global pandemic,” said Jed Cornforth, executive director of Beyond Monumental, “By tying a fitness challenge to periodic product shipments, we’re hoping this event can help people stay motivated to keep moving with monthly rewards that give them something to look forward to while participating.”
Participants will be able to track the progress of themselves and others using an online leaderboard as they make their way toward completing the 331-mile journey.
Registration is $75 and is available online at https://beyondmonumental.org/events/road-to-lady-victory/.
The Road To Lady Victory – A Monumental Challenge will be the first event of several for Beyond Monumental in 2021. The organizations’ signature event, The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, will open for registration at 12:00 AM on January 1 with special “Monumental Resolution” pricing.
