December 14, 2023

Las Vegas Personalities Lend their Voices to a Winter Dreamland Experience for Everyone, Including Blind and/or Deaf People

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – December 14, 2023 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Beyond Limits Running today announced it will debut its first “Beyond 5 Senses” race model at its inaugural Rudolph’s Runderland Experience at Gilcrease Orchard the evening of December 22, 2023. The walker/runner/stroller friendly experience, designed to stimulate parallel excitement across all 5 basic human senses, features 1-mile Reindeer Strolls starting at 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM, followed by a chip-timed 5K at 8:00 PM.

Decked out with four artificial snow zones, live Christmas carolers and recorded talking signs reading the legendary “’Twas The Night Before Christmas” and providing additional narrative throughout the whole course, Rudolph’s Runderland Experience creates an enchanting and community-building experience for everyone to enjoy, including people who are blind and/or deaf. Participants will hear the excitement as Las Vegas personalities, including The Honorable Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Chet Buchanan, among others, lend their voices to record narratives for the winter themed stops along the course, while a few local Las Vegas Little Theatre cast members from Elf the Musical will join others creating holiday cheer singing Christmas carols. Broken Spectacles, an all-blind member band, will rock the North Pole as runners and walkers feel the excitement under a blizzard of falling snow.

For the co-founders/owners of Beyond Limits Running, Stephanie & Ken Rubeli, the creative minds behind the Happy Hippy Harvest Run, Bee-utiful Sunflower Run and Jackpot Ultra Running Festival, expanding the inclusivity of their uniquely fun events rises to a new level with the launch of its “Beyond 5 Senses” race model. By infusing course features and experiences that appeal to all 5 basic human senses, Rudolph’s Runderland Experience is a welcoming and exciting community-building experience everyone can enjoy, including people who are blind and/or deaf.

Ken Rubeli commented, “After witnessing a couple runners who are blind earn their first ultra-marathon finish at our previously-owned Jackpot Ultra Running Festival in 2020, Stephanie and I have been blessed to host an expanding community of people who are blind at all our events. While we’ve always incorporated stimulating fun at our races, we’ve been obsessed with making our themed events more enjoyable for athletes who are blind. Incorporating detailed advice and suggestions from our close friends who are blind, Rudolph’s Runderland Experience will hopefully create more excitement for everyone, including our friends who are blind, during the joyous holiday season.”

Participants will not only enjoy the dazzling wonderland, but will help spread holiday cheer with their participation helping fund a $20,000 donation to Blind Center of Nevada.
