Best Bike Split Elevates 2025 Tour de France Stage Previews with AI‑Powered Performance Modeling and Stage-by-Stage Workouts

July 8, 2025

We leveraged our AI Workout Builder to create workouts for each stage, allowing users to experience each day's unique challenges firsthand, with custom stage-by-stage workouts ready to upload directly into Zwift or their favorite training apps — giving them a true feel for the demands faced by the pros.

Austin, TX /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Best Bike Split is revolutionizing race analysis for the 2025 Tour de France by unveiling its AI‑driven performance models for all 21 stages—offering both pros and enthusiasts a cutting-edge insights experience.

“Our approach to modeling the Tour is grounded in the dynamics of the peloton. The peloton’s collective power and aerodynamic efficiency play a crucial role in our predictions. By analyzing typical pull power and understanding the impact of drafting, we create a baseline that reflects the average conditions of the race.” – Rich Harpel, CEO of Best Bike Split.

This year we modeled all 21 stages and also highlighted some key stages to watch such as Stage 5, which is a flat, 32.86 km individual time trial, and Stage 12 which is the race’s first major Pyrenean summit finish that climbs 21.7 km and averages a 7.8% grade.

Along with the modeled stage previews, we also highlight some of the top time trial specialists and GC riders to watch. Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep) is fresh off another Belgian National TT title where he averaged nearly 55 kph. Then there’s Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers), who’s the multiple-time World TT Champion. Both Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) and Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) are GC contenders that can hold their own in the individual time trials.

“When modeling time trials, our models are designed to predict what it takes to reach the podium, focusing on optimal pacing strategies and power outputs that align with elite performance standards. While we refrain from using specific rider values due to our partnerships, our generalized approach still delivers highly competitive predictions.” – Rich Harpel, CEO of Best Bike Split.

Last year we introduced the ‘BBS AI Workout Builder’ empowering cyclists to create highly personalized structured workouts based on Best Bike Split race plans or via a simple text prompt. This year we leveraged the AI Workout Builder to create custom stage‑specific workouts that replicate pro-level demands—scaled to individual FTP—for authentic training sessions. Participants can import plans directly into Zwift or compatible apps, effectively “riding the Tour” from anywhere in the world.
