Bee-utiful Sunflower Run Names Justine Chevalier Honorary Race Starter

May 2, 2024

750 Runners & Walkers will Kick-off Mother’s Day at Gilcrease Orchard

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – May 2, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Beyond Limits Running today announced Justine Chevalier, Site Manager of GiGi’s Playhouse Las Vegas LLC, has been named the Honorary Race Starter for the 3rd Annual Bee-utiful Sunflower Run. Justine will join 750 sunflower chasing community members on Mother’s Day by running or leisurely walking a 5K, 10K or 1-Mile Sunflower Fairy Stroll through Vegas’ iconic Gilcrease Orchard just as their sunflower fields hit full bloom at the 3rd Annual Bee-utiful Sunflower Run on May 12, 2024.

Stephanie and Ken Rubeli, Co-Founders and Co-Owners of Beyond Limits Running stated, “As J.R. Rim famously said, ‘Sunflowers end up facing the sun, but they go through a lot of dirt to find their way there.’ Despite having to stop start-up efforts to bring GiGi’s Playhouse to the Down syndrome community of Southern Nevada in 2020 due to the pandemic, Justine, along with a passionate board of diretors and community supporters did exactly what sunflowers do, they pushed through the dirt, determined to find the sun. On March 9, 2024, the community gathered with GiGi’s leardership team under sunning skies and just like sunflowers do when they finally bloom open, the field of supporters smiled as Gigi’s officially bloomed opened. In just over 60 days, nearly 550 individuals with Down syndrome, along with their families, have enjoyed free educational, therapeutic-based, and career development programs. Considering a pandemic hurricane didn’t stop this driven leadership team from brining GiGi’s Playhouse to Vegas , there’s no doubt Justine and the leadership team at GiGi’s will laugh-off whatever Mother Nature throws their way and always find the sun.

Justine Chevalier, Site Manager for GiGi’s Playhouse Las Vegas commented, “We are so excited to be a part of this beautiful day and walk along side such a great organization! We can’t thank Ken, Steph and Beyond Limits Running enough for helping us with our mission of changing the way the world views Down syndrome and sending a global message of acceptance for all!”
