Athletes TRI-umph at 39th Running of Life Time Chicago Triathlon Aug. 27-28

Nearly 7,000 participants from 44 states and 14 countries take part in prestigious race; Malachi Henry, Magdalena Glotzer and Kyle Christie capture first in International distance to highlight weekend of racing action

CHICAGO (August 28, 2022)/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Nearly 7,000 triathletes descended upon the Windy City this weekend to swim, bike and run in the Life Time Chicago Triathlon. Competitors kicked off the weekend of racing on Saturday with the Chicago Kids Tri and SuperSprint races at Foster Beach, followed on Sunday by the Sprint and marquee International distance races in Grant Park. Across the full Triathlon weekend, participants came from 44 states and 14 countries and ranged in age from 7-89. More than half of the participants were competing in the Chicago Triathlon for the first time, and 34 percent of participants were competing their very first triathlon of any kind.

“Athletes’ competitive spirit and a love of the sport made today’s running of the 39th annual Life Time Chicago Triathlon all-around phenomenal,” said Allison Humbert Wilkinson, Sr. Marketing Manager at Life Time. “Between our virtual training programs, lead-up swim clinics, inclusive categories and availability of Divvy Bikes, there truly was something for everyone.
