Apple plans to turn smart glasses into a health and fitness platform
August 3, 2026
Apple is reportedly planning to turn its upcoming smart glasses into a wider health and fitness platform, although the first-generation model will probably launch without these features when it arrives next year.
Mark Gurman reports that Apple has already explored a similar idea for the Vision Pro, where users could follow Fitness+ workouts, track their movement, and close Activity rings while wearing the headset.
Apple also planned to use the Vision Pro’s body-tracking system to study movement during workouts and give users more useful feedback than they would receive from an iPad or Apple TV. However, the headset’s weight and other technical limits pushed the company to abandon the project before launch. theMacObserver
