German cycling industry launches rival bike show to Eurobike

Germany’s battery storage market has grown sharply this year, with about 225,000 storage systems installed in the first five months and a total capacity of 3.4 gigawatt hours. That is about 70 percent more than in the same period last year.

The biggest driver of the increase was large-scale storage projects, which accounted for 1.47 gigawatt hours and grew far faster than before. Smaller home solar storage systems also increased, but only modestly.

Overall, battery storage is expanding quickly as part of Germany’s energy transition, with utility-scale systems now leading the growth. DPA
