Falmouth Road Race Inc. Awards Over $280,000 to Recent Grant Recipients

13 local nonprofit organizations were awarded grant funding
FALMOUTH, Mass. (March 20, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Falmouth Road Race, Inc., the nonprofit behind the ASICS Falmouth Road Race, has announced the recipients of over $280,000 in grant funding. Recipients of $80,000 in funding included local nonprofit organizations that fit within the Falmouth Road Race Inc.’s philanthropic goals. The Winter 2025 cycle recipients included:
- Bay State Games
- Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod, Inc.
- Children’s Discovery Museum of Cape Cod
- Falmouth High School Basketball Team
- Falmouth Girls Youth Lacrosse
- Falmouth Soccer Club, Inc.
- GLAM Girl (Global Local Athletic Movement, Inc.)
- SMILE Mass
- Town of Falmouth Beach Department
- Twilight Throwers
- Wareham Gatemen Baseball, Inc.
- WBYC Foundation, Inc.
Another recent grant recipient was the Don & Dottie Smith YMCA, the town’s first YMCA branch with a planned opening in 2027. Falmouth Road Race, Inc. will be awarding the organization $40,000 per year for five years, totalling $200,000. This support is aimed at the creation of a running track at the facility.
Falmouth Road Race, Inc. continues to work towards its mission of being committed to supporting and promoting local organizations with specific focus on youth athletics and programming that promotes health and wellness. These efforts are realized by consistent community involvement and ongoing philanthropic endeavors including donations, sponsorships, grants and an annual scholarship provided to graduating seniors who reside in Falmouth or Mashpee. The application for the 2026 Falmouth Road Race, Inc. Scholarship is currently open, with a deadline of April 1, 2026.

The support we feel from them not just on race day, but year-round is hard to even put into words,” said Scott Ghelfi, president of Falmouth Road Race, Inc. “Through the board’s various philanthropic programs, we hope to give back to our Cape Cod family and show them just how appreciative we are of their continued support!”
Since 2011, Falmouth Road Race, Inc. has given back over $6.1 million to the community in the form of scholarships to graduating high school seniors, grant awards, donations to volunteer groups that support the race, sponsorships of local events and the completion of various large projects to benefit the town. Some of these projects have included a new track at Falmouth High School and a new floor in its Field House, where the Falmouth Road Race Health & Fitness Expo is held each year, equipment for the fitness room at the Falmouth Senior Center, and more.
At this past year’s ASICS Falmouth Road Race, the race’s Numbers for Nonprofits Program generated nearly $8.9 million, the highest total for a single year to date. More than 4,200 runners participated in the program and raised money for over 220 official charity teams. Through the Numbers for Nonprofits Program, the race has helped raise over $80.4 million for charities and organizations based in Massachusetts since the program’s inception in 2000.
