The New Site Offers Training Plans for Runners and Triathletes Based on the Vaunted “Norwegian Method”

November 5, 2025, Lehi, UT /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – 80/20 Endurance, a leading provider of online training resources for endurance athletes, today announced the launch of NorwegianTraining.com, a new site offering training plans and workouts based on the Norwegian Method of endurance training and delivered through the industry-leading TrainingPeaks platform.

At launch, the site features 16 running plans covering race distances from 5K to the marathon and ability levels ranging from beginner to elite. Triathlon plans will be added in the coming weeks, with cycling and swim plans following early next year.

Norwegian endurance athletes have been dominant since the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, when middle-distance runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen won the men’s 1500 meters and Kristian Blummenfelt claimed gold in the men’s triathlon. That dominance has only continued: at the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship, Norway swept the men’s podium, with Casper Stornes taking the world title, followed by Gustav Iden in second and Blummenfelt in third. Norway also celebrated a new women’s Ironman World Champion, Solveig Løvseth, who captured the title in her Kona debut — a performance that reinforced Norway’s reputation as a global powerhouse in endurance sports.

The success of Norway’s top athletes has been attributed to an innovative training approach that places a heavy emphasis on interval workouts targeting lactate threshold intensity — a middle ground between low and high intensity. The Norwegian Training plans from 80/20 Endurance allow athletes of all abilities to benefit from this approach using heart rate, pace, or power zones to regulate effort without the need for invasive blood lactate testing during workouts.

“Training fads come and go, but the Norwegian Method is here to stay,” says 80/20 Endurance cofounder and 80/20 Running author Matt Fitzgerald. “With its emphasis on precisely controlled moderate-intensity intervals, this groundbreaking system enables athletes at every level to build more fitness with less strain, less fatigue, and less risk of injury. I’ve seen amazing results applying the Norwegian Method to the athletes I coach, and with our new Norwegian Training plans, the same results are now available to any athlete who wants them.”

The new plans are delivered exclusively through TrainingPeaks, the world’s most trusted endurance training app, known for its ease of use and robust analysis tools. The platform allows athletes to download individual workouts to their training devices for step-by-step guidance, then review performance data afterward for detailed feedback and progress tracking.

Norwegian Training plans are available for individual purchase for $34.95 to $54.95, with a level guarantee allowing athletes to switch to a more or less challenging plan at no additional cost if their chosen plan isn’t a fit.
