DEKA FIT Teams Up with Breast Connect to Support Breast Cancer Survivors in Knoxville

Boston, MA (September 30, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, DEKA FIT Knoxville is partnering with Breast Connect to support breast cancer survivors. The collaboration aims to raise awareness and funds for Breast Connect, an organization dedicated to providing “wrap-around support” to women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the U.S., with one in every eight women receiving a diagnosis in their lifetime. Breast Connect was founded in 2015, “For Survivors, By Survivors,” to assist women who have been recently diagnosed or are undergoing treatment and beyond. All of the organization’s services are provided free of charge to survivors.

Breast Connect offers a variety of support services, including chemotherapy and radiation care packages, flowers after a mastectomy or lumpectomy surgery, a sisterhood support program that matches women with similar diagnoses, educational and community-building events, an online support group for over 2,400 breast cancer survivors and their loved ones, and more.

The organization’s mission is focused on “Survivor helping Survivor,” and every donation helps advance this mission. According to one member, Sarah (name changed), the group was “instrumental” in her journey, helping her feel “empowered and very supported” rather than “totally helpless” after completing her last chemo infusion. Another member, Brenda (name changed), shared that receiving flowers from Breast Connect reminded her that she wasn’t alone on her journey.

The DEKA FIT Knoxville event is a part of DEKA’s “decathlon of functional fitness,” which features 10 dynamic fitness zones to test strength, endurance, and grit. With over 1,000 events annually, DEKA provides an opportunity for individuals of all fitness levels to experience personal achievement and the thrill of competition.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, DEKA FIT Knoxville encourages participants and community members to “Pay It Forward” by supporting local breast cancer survivors.
