Team Evergreen Donates $15,000 Through the Proceeds of The Session Series

August 3, 2021

EVERGREEN, CO, August 3, 2021 — Team Evergreen Cycling, missioned to host exceptional events and return the profits to the community, is pleased to announce a $15,000 donation to the Colorado Mountain Bike Association through the proceeds of the inaugural Session Series, held in Clear Creek County.

This sold-out, weekly event took place between May 19th – June 5th. As the first weekly enduro series in Colorado, it invited a new unique after-work atmosphere that was met with enthusiasm and positivity.

“The Session Series was a blast, and we are thrilled to direct the proceeds to the Colorado Mountain Bike Association to build more fantastic trails like the Sluice. We are also very grateful that Clear Creek County Open Space took a chance on us and allowed the event to happen. We hope this partnership will continue, and we can engage more riders to check out all the great trails within Clear Creek County,” saidExecutive Director of Team Evergreen, Jen Barbour.

The series raised funds to benefit Clear Creek County to continue the trail-building efforts of the Colorado Mountain Bike Association (COMBA), including a downhill trail system at Virginia Canyon and the Warren Gulch trail. COMBA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and preservation of great mountain biking experiences in Colorado, has been a long-standing partner of Team Evergreen. Their partnership on the Floyd Hill trail system alone dates back to 2015.

“Team Evergreen’s work is invaluable in the effort to bring world-class mountain bike trail experiences to the Front Range. Not only do their events provide unique and desirable competition-based fun and excitement to riders, but their focus on giving back to the mountain bike community (through partnerships and grants for stellar new trail construction projects) packs an additional and much-needed punch,” said Gary Moore, Executive Director of COMBA. “Funding from our partners at Team Evergreen has helped us build mountain bike-specific trails at Floyd Hill and Maryland Mountain in just the past two years, and we are looking forward to starting construction on the new trail system in Idaho Springs this fall. Great events that lead directly to great trails, Team Evergreen is a key partner and leader for our trails community.”

A portion of the donation to COMBA will be directed to the Floyd Hill system for improvements to the Sluice. Work is already underway, and riders should be able to check out the enhanced lines in the coming weeks.

Since its establishment in 1988, Team Evergreen has donated over $3 million to local nonprofits through the proceeds of their events and membership. The remaining 2021 Team Evergreen events include the sold-out Triple Bypass and the Beti Bike Bash on October 3rd. To learn more about Team Evergreen and its mission, visit www.teamevergreen.org.
