20th Annual Baltimore Marathon Start Line Moved to Camden Yards’ Eutaw Street

February 5, 2020

Baltimore, Md. (February 5, 2020) – Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced today the start line of the annual Baltimore Marathon and Four-Person Team Relay will move inside Oriole Park at Camden Yards at Gate A and proceed down Eutaw Street along the B&O Warehouse before making a left at the Babe Ruth statue on to Camden Street. Eutaw Street served as the event’s final stretch run from 2001-2016 prior to the Baltimore Running Festival moving its finish line for all distances to the Inner Harbor in 2017.

The rest of the marathon and relay courses will mostly remain mostly unchanged from last year except for a couple of areas need to be modified to accommodate the additional mileage created by the new start at Eutaw Street. The start line for the marathon and team relay previously started at the intersection of S. Paca and Camden Streets since the event’s inception in 2001.

Lee Corrigan, president of CSE, said: “We know many runners missed running thru the best professional baseball stadium in the nation since we moved our finish line and post-event celebration festivities to heart of the city and the more spacious Inner Harbor area near Pratt Street. To celebrate our historic 20th anniversary this year, we’re delighted to bring that course highlight back to marathoners and the first leg of the team relay as they begin their epic foot tour through Charm City.”

The CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Half Marathon and the Belcara Health 5K courses will remain unchanged from last year. Both of those distances start on Light Street and finish on Pratt Street.

Race officials anticipate an estimated 20,000 runners will participate in the 20th annual Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday, October 17th. The event features a distance for all runners and abilities including a marathon, half marathon, four-person team relay, and 5K.

Slots remain available for all distances. For more information visit thebaltimoremarathon.com.
