September 30, 2025

Organized by Bike Division and managed by former Pro Cylist Andrea Tonti, represents the fourth year as official stop of the Gran Fondo World Tour® for 2025

September 30, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/Last weekend, the scenic coastline and rolling landscapes of Regione Marche became a hub for international cycling as Porto Recanati hosted the acclaimed 5 Mila Marche Gran Fondo one of Italy’s premier gran fondo events. This three-day festival united cycling enthusiasts, families, and competitive athletes from across Europe and beyond.

Organized by Bike Division and managed by former Pro Cylist Andrea Tonti, represents the fourth year as official stop of the Gran Fondo World Tour® for 2025, 5 Mila Marche stands out not just for its rigorous courses but for its genuine Italian hospitality and celebration of cycling culture since joining the series in 2021.

Participants enjoyed the choice of three classic formats:

  • Extreme Randoneur: An epic endurance challenge stretching from Porto Recanati across the Sibillini Mountains, totaling over 5,000 meters of elevation with demanding climbs and breathtaking views.
  • Gran Fondo and Medio: Routes traversing iconic regional towns such as Macerata, Recanati, Montelupone, and Tolentino, blending coast, vineyard landscapes, and medieval heritage.
  • Gravel Ride: A Saturday special, offering a taste of Marche’s growing reputation as a gravel cycling destination, with picturesque white roads through the countryside.

The event’s friendly, welcoming atmosphere made it ideal for families, with a lively Expo Village in Porto Recanati, special kids’ rides, pasta parties, and evening concerts. Both professional and amateur cyclists could experience the region’s famed gastronomy, tranquil beach resorts, and cycle paths stretching along the Adriatic coast.

Regione Marche is fast emerging as a top destination for cycling tourism, offering challenging rides, cultural gems like UNESCO-listed Urbino, and a quieter, authentic alternative to Italy’s more famous cycling regions. Porto Recanati, in particular, balances seaside relaxation with access to elite cycling terrain, making it the perfect venue for international events.

As part of the Gran Fondo World Tour ® ranking, riders collected points for the global amateur ranking, further elevating the event’s international status and appeal.

For all those passionate about cycling, 5 Mila Marche continues to represent the spirit of endurance, adventure, and Italian cycling excellence as part of Gran Fondo World Tour ® calendar.
