46th Annual Escape from Alcatraz™ Triathlon Returns to the San Francisco Bay, Welcoming Amateur and Professional Athletes from Around the World

The iconic Escape from Alcatraz™ Triathlon joins forces once again with the San Francisco T100 for two days of world-class racing June 6-7
SAN FRANCISCO /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The legendary Escape from Alcatraz™ Triathlon is set to return to the streets and waters of San Francisco on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7. Organized by MARI, the weekend will bring together elite professional triathletes and passionate amateur competitors from around the world as the global sports and events company partners with the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) once again, making for one of sport’s most iconic endurance events of the year.
The anticipated weekend will kick-off on Saturday, June 6 as the PTO’s T100 Triathlon World Tour returns for its third consecutive year. Fans will have the opportunity to cheer on some of the world’s top professional male triathletes as they compete in the T100 race format across San Francisco’s iconic terrain.
“Escape From Alcatraz is one of the world’s most celebrated triathlons, a bucket list event for professionals and amateurs alike and consistently one of stops on the T100 Triathlon World Tour which our pros say they look forward to and enjoy the most,” said PTO CEO Sam Renouf. “So we’re excited to be building towards our third year together with Mari.”
Bringing together a bold field of age-group athletes from around the globe, the weekend will continue on Sunday, June 7 with the historic Escape from Alcatraz™ Triathlon. Representing more than 60 countries and all 50 states, competitors will take on the grueling course beginning with the iconic swim from Alcatraz Island, followed by a bike ride through the Presidio and a demanding coastal run finishing at Baker Beach.

Throughout the weekend, Marina Green will once again serve as the central hub of activity for both athletes and spectators. Acting as the location for the race finish and Transition Area, and the complimentary Fitness Festival, attendees will be welcomed to cheer on the racers while exploring lifestyle, health and fitness brands, interactive activations, a variety of food trucks and local vendors, and more.
