UltraSignup to Assume Leadership of the US Trail Running Conference in 2026
October 21, 2025

Nashville, TN (October 21, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — UltraSignup, the leading registration and results platform in trail running, announced today that it will assume leadership of the US Trail Running Conference beginning in 2026, and is moving the event to Nashville, TN. The 2025 edition of the conference concluded last week in Knoxville, TN with a wide range of race directors in attendance.
Founded 13 years ago by Terry Chiplin to advance the sport of trail running through education, collaboration, and peer support, the US Trail Running Conference has long been a vital gathering for race directors. UltraSignup’s stewardship will ensure the continuation and growth of this event, with an unwavering focus on serving race directors, strengthening the trail running community, and developing the sport for the future.
“The Conference has grown far beyond my initial hopes and dreams. I’m so proud of what we’ve built together — and I’m confident that UltraSignup is the perfect organization to carry this forward. Their dedication to community, education, and supporting race directors mirrors the heart of this event. I know it will thrive in their hands,” said Chiplin.
From its beginnings, the Conference has been about connection, collaboration, and community. Thanks to Chiplin’s years of dedication, it offers a place where race directors, runners, and industry leaders come together to share knowledge and strengthen the sport. That mission remains unchanged.
“The US Trail Running Conference has always been about creating space for race directors to learn from one another, access resources, and push our sport forward,” said Jay Kelley, Co-CEO of UltraSignup. “We are honored to take on the responsibility of stewarding this event, and we see our role as facilitators—amplifying the voices and supporting the needs of race directors across the United States and beyond.”
The conference will remain a neutral forum for discussion and development, and input from race directors and an independent advisory committee will continue to guide its future direction.
“Our organization has partnered with the US Trail Running Conference since its inception,”
said Nancy Hobbs, founder and executive director of American Trail Running Association. “The entire ATRA team is excited to see the event continue well into the future, and with UltraSignup stepping in as the new owners we are confident that the event will thrive in the
coming years. We look forward to supporting UltraSignup in this transition and in the
journey forward with the USTRC.”
Race director education, growth, and peer support will remain the primary focus of the conference. UltraSignup will host opportunities in the coming months for race directors to share ideas, offer feedback, and shape the future of the event.
