March 10, 2026

Nashville, TN (March 10, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — The U.S. Trail Running Conference will return November 5–7, 2026, at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee, bringing together race directors, brands, media, athletes, and industry leaders for three days of education, collaboration, and community-building focused on the future of trail running.
Founded more than a decade ago by Terry Chiplin, the U.S. Trail Running Conference has become a central gathering for race directors and industry professionals dedicated to advancing the sport through education, collaboration, and peer support.
The 2026 event represents the next chapter for the conference following the transition of stewardship to UltraSignup, which assumed leadership of the event beginning in 2026. The conference will continue its longstanding mission of serving race directors while expanding opportunities for collaboration across the broader trail running ecosystem.
“The U.S. Trail Running Conference exists to support the people who make trail running possible,” said Carrie Meng, Event Director of the U.S. Trail Running Conference. “Race directors are at the heart of this sport, creating experiences that connect people to trails and to each other. Our goal is to create a space where organizers, brands, media, and community leaders can share ideas, learn from one another, and work together to grow trail running responsibly.”
The conference will feature educational sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and collaborative workshops designed to strengthen professional standards and innovation in trail and ultrarunning event management. Topics will include race operations, sustainability and land stewardship, sponsorship and partnership development, marketing, storytelling, and strategies to enhance the runner experience.
For many race directors, the event has become an essential opportunity to connect with peers and share best practices across the sport.
“The U.S. Trail Running Conference has always been one of the most valuable gatherings in our sport,” said Mandy Mullen, RD and Owner of miles.Beyond Running Company. “It’s a place where we can exchange ideas, talk through challenges, and learn from each other in ways that ultimately improve trail running for all.”
In addition to its educational programming, the conference celebrates the culture of trail running through community events, networking opportunities, and storytelling that reflects the spirit of the sport.
Nashville has been selected as the 2026 home of the conference to provide a central and vibrant destination for attendees traveling from across the United States.
The core goals of the U.S. Trail Running Conference include:
- Strengthening professional standards in trail and ultrarunning event management
