The Sold Out 54th Annual BMW Dallas Marathon Weekend Commences at Scottish Rite for Children

December 12, 2025

DALLAS (Dec. 12, 2025) – The sold out 2025 BMW Dallas Marathon weekend kicked off this morning, bringing together representatives from Scottish Rite for Children, the race’s primary beneficiary, and title sponsor BMW and the six DFW BMW dealers.

This will be the 28th year of Scottish Rite for Children partnering with the BMW Dallas Marathon. Dr. Logan Sherman, Chairman of the BMW Dallas Marathon, expressed his immense gratitude for the relationship the organizations have sustained through the years.

“Extraordinary doesn’t happen alone, it happens together,” said Dr. Logan Sherman, Chairman of the BMW Dallas Marathon. “Nothing about the marathon is a solo effort. It’s teamwork that carries the mission forward. If you want to go far, we go together. And that’s exactly what the marathon is all about.”

As part of the celebration, the BMW Dallas Marathon honored its 2025 Hall of Honor inductees: Irving Adelstein, Chock Bailey, Mary Kennard, Donald Key, Don Lucas, Lou Neeb, and Joe Zimmerman. Each of these individuals has played a meaningful role in shaping the history, growth, and spirit of the marathon. Their dedication, whether through leadership, volunteerism, advocacy, or decades of support, reflects the heart of the event and the community it represents. This year’s ceremony served as a reminder that the marathon’s legacy is built not only by the runners on the course, but also by the remarkable people who have uplifted it behind the scenes for so many years.

Since the event named Scottish Rite for Children as their primary beneficiary in 1997, it has raised more than $4.5 million for the world-renowned institution.

“For decades, the BMW Dallas Marathon has transformed the lives of our patients and families through their enduring friendship and tremendous support,” said Robert L. Walker, President and CEO of Scottish Rite for Children. “We are grateful for their generosity, their partnership and the lives they have touched through their impact in giving children back their childhood.”

Walker recognized this year’s Patient Champions and Race Director, 13-year-old Bella, 7-year-old Easton, 7-year-old Hattie, 7-year-old Juju, and 12-year-old Lorelei. All of the Patient Champions and the Race Director will be cheering on participants throughout the weekend.

“I’m so excited and grateful for everything the hospital has done for me,” said Juju. “I’m so happy to be a Patient Champion this year.”

This year’s Race Director, Bella Ivery, echoed his sentiment and is looking forward to serving in her role this year.

“Being the Race Director this year means a lot to me because I’m overcoming my fears,” Bella said. “I can’t wait to help kick off the race.”

In celebration of their partnership for the tenth year in a row, BMW unveiled its brand new X3 that was wrapped with artwork of the Patient Champions and “Scottish Rite Heroes” as well as staff at Scottish Rite for Children.

“The most important part about the marathon for us are the stories we hear every year,” said Curtis Snyder, Regional Marketing Manager at BMW of North America. “We love to hear the stories about the runners, why they’re running, things that they’ve overcome, running for those who cannot, running because they now can. We love hearing about it because it embodies the spirit of community. That’s why we continue to support and be inspired by this event every year.”
