The Running Event 2025 Celebrates Return of Mission-Driven Partners

June 3, 2025

TRE 2025 welcomes back key partner organizations, with more to be announced ahead of the December event

PORTLAND, Maine (June 3, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ The Running Event (TRE), North America’s premier run specialty retail conference and trade show, proudly welcomes back several mission-driven partner organizations that are helping shape a more inclusive, inspired, and responsible future for the running industry and community. These returning partners, each with a distinct focus ranging from youth engagement to environmental stewardship, will bring their energy, insights, and initiatives to San Antonio this December.

“At TRE, we strive to collaborate with organizations creating meaningful change across our industry and beyond,” said Christina Henderson, Event Director, The Running Event. “Our returning partners reflect the power of community and shared values—whether it’s protecting trails, inspiring the next generation, or creating more inclusive spaces for runners, walkers, and more.”

As TRE enters a new chapter in San Antonio, the 2025 theme, Better Together: Uniting the Running Industry, underscores the value of collaboration and community-driven progress. The dedication of returning partners—many of whom are joining for their second, third, or even fifth year and beyond—exemplifies the shared commitment to moving the industry forward together.

“We’re excited to return to TRE this year as part of our ongoing commitment to connect with the running community around shared values of sustainability, stewardship, and care for the outdoors,” said Dean Ronzoni, Director of Corporate Development at Leave No Trace, who is attending for the third consecutive year. “This partnership is deeply aligned with our mission and allows us to inspire runners to actively protect the trails, parks, and wild spaces they rely on.”

The following organizations are returning as TRE partners, each bringing unique initiatives and perspectives that enrich the event and demonstrate the long-standing value of these partnerships:

Healthy Kids Running Series is an international, inclusive youth running program that introduces children to the sport in a fun, supportive environment. Founded in 2009, the cross-country-style series builds confidence, encourages a “Get Up and Go” mindset, and promotes lifelong healthy habits through local, community-led events..

Leave No Trace (LNT) accomplishes its mission by providing innovative education, skills, research, and science to help people care for the outdoors. By working with the public and those managing public lands, LNT focuses on educating people—instead of costly restoration programs or access restrictions—as the most effective and least resource-intensive solution to land protection..

American Trail Running Association (ATRA) was formed in mid-1996 as a Colorado not-for-profit corporation to serve the mountain, ultra & trail (MUT) running community. Their mission is to represent and promote mountain, ultra & trail running. They offer individual, club, race, and corporate memberships, which include their quarterly newsletter, Trail Times, that features a national events calendar, thoughtful articles, and timely information about the sport.

Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC) is a non-profit organization uniting the running industry to improve the inclusion, visibility, and access for Black, Indigenous, and other people of color.

“It’s such a pleasure to work with these returning partners year after year,” said Heidi Johnston, Partnership Project Manager for The Running Event. “Their passion, creativity, and impact elevate the entire TRE experience—and we’re especially excited to bring this energy to San Antonio for the first time.”

The Running Event will take place December 2-4 at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, bringing together the brightest minds, latest trends, and most impactful conversations in the running and outdoor industry. Register and stay up to date with the latest TRE news here.
