November 17, 2025

The field of participants represented 42 states across the country

SAVANNAH, Ga. (November 17, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The inaugural Savannah Southern Half Marathon drew nearly 4,500 participants to Savannah on Nov. 15, 2025. The event featured two distances, the marquee half marathon (13.1 miles) and the Fleet Feet 5K (3.1 miles), each offering runners a one-of-a-kind tour through the city of Savannah. Participants from across the country took advantage of the unique “race-cation” experience, traveling to Savannah for both the race and exclusive local deals and programs produced in partnership with community organizations.

The scenic courses began at Forsyth Park, taking runners on a memorable tour of Savannah’s city highlights. Participants made their way through the heart of the city and into historic neighborhoods shaded by oak trees and draped in Spanish moss, passing charming porch swings and church bells along the way. The route also brought runners through the iconic Savannah Bananas stadium before finishing at Daffin Park where they celebrated with live music and street food at the Finish Festival.

Owen Allen, the men’s half marathon champion and first-place finisher, completed the 13.1 miles in 1:08:40, followed by the men’s second-place finisher, Connor Livingston. David Fuller took the third-place spot for the men’s half marathon. The women’s half marathon course was led by Kate McAndrew, who finished with a time of 1:20:55. Less than 30 seconds behind was second-place finisher, Maddy Walter-Sherretts, followed by Jenna Walker.

The men’s 5K division was led by John Ball, who finished with a time of 17:50, followed by second and third-place finishers, Adam Richmond and Savannah-local Benjamin Moreno. Sarah Schultz led the women’s division with a time of 19:59. Libby Le Tourneau and Charlotte Simpson came in shortly after to claim second and third place in the women’s 5K. All results are now available online and can be found here.

“We were thrilled to welcome runners from across the country to experience Savannah in such a unique way,” said Crystian Kumnick, Managing Director of Motiv Sports, producer of the Savannah Southern Half. “You could truly feel the energy in the air as participants embraced the city’s charm and Southern hospitality. It couldn’t have been such a successful inaugural event without all of the support from our amazing sponsors, volunteers, participants and community members.”

This year, the Savannah Southern Half celebrated its commitment to community and philanthropy through its partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS). Funds raised by Team DetermiNation will go towards ACS’s mission to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families through advocacy, research and patient support to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat and survive cancer.
