South Seas Captiva Island Triathlon

CAPTIVA ISLAND, FL (September 9, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – On Sunday, September 28, 2025, athletes will head to the stunning shores of Captiva Island for the South Seas Captiva Island Triathlon, a one-of-a-kind race experience combining the beautiful Gulf waters, a closed off bike course, and a run through one of Florida’s most picturesque island destinations.

Set at the iconic South Seas resort, the race offers an ideal escape for both new and experienced triathletes. Participants will swim in the clear blue waters of the Gulf, bike on a closed course free of vehicle traffic, and run through the scenic paths of Captiva Island, surrounded by palm trees and beaches the whole way.

This event offers multiple race formats, including the classic Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquabike. For those who are new to the sport or looking for a shorter challenge, the Super Sprint is a great beginner-friendly option. No matter the distance, each course is flat, safe, and supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, lifeguards, and course marshals.

Just 45 minutes from the mainland, Captiva Island is accessible via the Sanibel Causeway and a small bridge over Blind Pass. The South Seas resort, located on the island’s northern tip, spans 330 acres and offers more than two miles of private beaches, nature trails, and activities — making it an ideal location for a full weekend getaway.

Race weekend will also feature special resort-wide activities for guests and families to enjoy, including beach games, outdoor relaxation areas, and food and drink offerings designed to celebrate the island lifestyle.
