Thousands gather at Gas Works Park for music, fitness, and celebrity cameos at Diplo’s Run Club

SEATTLE, WA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – On a picture-perfect fall morning, nearly 8,000 runners joined Grammy-winning DJ Diplo at Gas Works Park for the 2025 Diplo’s Run Club Seattle 5K — marking the event’s return to the iconic venue for its second stop here in two years.

Diplo arrived at the start line by boat alongside Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, crossing Lake Union to cheering fans and a waterfront crowd gathered at Gas Works Park. The mayor, who served as the official race starter, praised the event as a celebration of community, movement, and music.

“We are thrilled to welcome Diplo and Diplo’s Run Club back to Seattle,” Mayor Harrell said. “This event represents what we do best in Seattle – healthy exercise, vibrant fun, and activities that bring communities together.”

Lining up with Diplo was hometown superstar Macklemore, who ran the course in 27:50 to the delight of fans. His rep later called the experience “hella fun,” echoing the day’s upbeat, Seattle-style energy. Also spotted on the course were “Love Is Blind” stars Kwame Appiah and Chelsea Griffin, who crossed the finish line together in 37:29.

The 3.1-mile course followed the Burke-Gilman Trail with sweeping views of Lake Union, the downtown skyline, and the Space Needle. Post-race, the finish line festival transformed Gas Works Park into a full-scale music and wellness celebration with food trucks, brand activations and wellness experiences from sponsors including Altra, EBoost, Lightstrike and Ladder among others.

Diplo, who completed the run in 22:21, capped the morning with a high-energy DJ set. Acclaimed electronic artist TOKiMONSTA opened the concert, keeping the momentum high as runners and fans celebrated under clear blue skies.

“Getting Run Club started last year was some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time,” Diplo said in a statement. “Bringing people together to run and celebrate is really all I ever want to do. I’m stoked we got to do it again in Seattle and bigger than ever.”

Beyond the festivities, the event raised funds for local youth through a partnership with PLUS1 and Good Sports, benefiting organizations that expand access to sports and play for underserved communities.

Diplo’s Run Club continues its 2025-26 national tour with stops in San Francisco and Los Angeles the weekend of Oct. 11-12, followed by New York City on Oct. 25. For complete race results, photos, and more, visit www.diplosrunclub.com.
