San Diego’s Fastest Holiday Tradition will dash down Garnet Ave before the annual Pacific Beach Holiday Parade
SAN DIEGO (December 12, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – More than 8,000 runners, walkers and families dressed as Santa Claus will turn the Pacific Beach coastline into a sea of red on Saturday morning for the 13th annual San Diego Santa Run, one of the largest holiday fun runs in the United States.
The event features two 5K start times at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., followed by kids races and a dog mile along Garnet Avenue. Participants of all ages will wear red Santa suits as they make their way along the 3.1-mile route.
The San Diego Santa Run has grown steadily, welcoming thousands each December and becoming one of San Diego’s most anticipated holiday traditions. The event combines fitness and competition with seasonal fanfare, attracting runners and walkers of all abilities.
“The Santa Run is the best day of the year in Pacific Beach and 2025 will be our largest year in event history,” said Race Director Eric Marenburg. “It’s a high-energy spectacle that brings thousands of people together to stay active, connect with family and friends and celebrate the holiday season.”
The celebration continues throughout the day, as the morning’s Santa Run helps build the festive momentum that culminates in the Pacific Beach Holiday Parade later that afternoon.
