January 19, 2026

Record registrations & athlete donations
Sedona, AZ (JANUARY 19, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Bluewolf Events is excited for the running of the highly anticipated RunSedona Half Marathon/10K/5K, set for February 7, 2026. Celebrating its 21st anniversary, the event is set to energize athletes, spectators, and the entire Sedona community. For the second consecutive year, the race has completely sold out, attracting a record 4,000 participants from all U.S. states and nine countries, with 74% experiencing RunSedona for the first time and 64% of the participants being female. This beloved race draws seasoned runners, like 80-year-old local Don Dickinson, who will reach his 75,000th mile, alongside newcomers eager to challenge themselves in their first-ever endurance event.
As a sport, running is having a moment and RunSedona is there for it. The event has seen a remarkable 43% increase in registrations since 2024, underscoring the event’s allure. Runners will gather to race amidst Sedona’s corridor of red rocks, a stunning location recognized by Runner’s World as a “Best Destination Race.” Hundreds of eager runners remain on the waiting list, hoping to experience the challenging terrain and stunning vistas that only Sedona can offer.
But RunSedona goes beyond just being a race; it’s a celebration of community, charity, and sustainability. The event encourages newcomers to take part by offering personalized training programs through event partner, Runna by Strava. Important to the local residents, thus far over $6,000 has been raised for the Sedona Community Food Bank and Sedona Wolf Sanctuary. “Our participants’ generosity is truly inspiring,” said Jeff Frost, Race Director. RunSedona also introduced Sneakers4Good as a charity partner, allowing donations of used shoes for global distribution and waste reduction.
To further its commitment to sustainability, RunSedona remains a cupless race. Thanks to the 10K presenting sponsor HydraPak, all participants will receive reusable HydraPak SpeedCups, helping to eliminate single-use cups and promote sustainable racing practices.
In alignment with its health and community values, RunSedona welcomes back Northern Arizona Healthcare as the presenting sponsor of the Half Marathon. Many employees from Northern Arizona Healthcare have registered to participate, showcasing their dedication to promoting health and wellness.
To add an element of fun, the 5K Walk will feature a pet parade benefiting the Sedona Humane Society. Prizes courtesy of the Sedona PetSmart will be awarded to two furry athletes who have donned the best costumes, making for a delightful addition to the event.
The races kick off at 8 AM and will be covered via a live broadcast by Yavapai Broadcasting. Participants and the public are invited to the free event Expo at the Start/Finish line where they will find a wellness zone offering protein smoothies, a custom hat bar, cryotherapy, ice cream, running accessories and more. RunSedona invites anyone interested to attend or hop in and volunteer. Make sure to bring along a pair of used running shoes to donate!
