The signature event for the Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation returned to McGillivray’s hometown
MEDFORD, Mass. (September 30, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Over 1000 people took part in Run Medford on Sept. 26 and 27. Produced by DMSE Sports and a fundraiser for the Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation, the race donated $8,000 in funds to causes benefiting local parent-teacher organizations in Medford. The two-day event featured kids’ races, a 5K run, a five-mile run, and a 2-mile walk. All results are available online now.
“It’s been forty-seven years since I arrived back in my hometown of Medford after completing a run across the entire U.S., and it’s still a thrill to run through these streets full of memories,” said McGillivray. “I’m proud of the community I grew up in, and using a road race to highlight it is just one way I can show my gratitude! This race gives back in so many ways, and I thank the City for its support of this celebration of fitness, fun and athletic achievement.”
In the Mayor’s Celebrity Mile, Malachi Raymond of the Boston Glory took the title in the men’s division, finishing in 6:11. The women’s field was championed by two-time World Marathon Challenge winner Becca Pizzi, who was the overall top finisher with a time of 6:05.
