Recipients Announced for Run Tucson’s 2025 Downtown Tucson for Everyone Grant
May 22, 2025

Free race entries to organizations not traditionally engaged with the running community
Tucson, AZ /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Run Tucson is pleased to announce the recipients of the “Downtown Tucson for Everyone” grant.
Thanks to the generous support of the Downtown Tucson Partnership and HSL Properties, running event organizer Run Tucson has offered a total of 60 free TMC Meet Me Downtown entries to members of organizations and communities that advocate for those who are disabled, disadvantaged, and members of historically marginalized communities.
The entries can be used for the 19th Annual TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k Night Run/Walk or the Festival of Miles, the RRCA West Regional Championship. All events take place on Saturday night, May 31st in the vibrant heart of historic Downtown Tucson.
Run Tucson’s Randy Accetta says, “We’ve long said that our events are open to all bodies, all ages, and all abilities — and this grant provides resources to more fully include those who have not been part of the mainstream running community.”
Six organizations will receive the free entries:
- Southern Arizona Pride
- Tucson Indian Center
- Team RWB
- Team Hoyt
- Achilles International
- Running Medicine
Southern Arizona Senior Pride says that they will extend the complimentary entries to volunteers and constituents: “This opportunity removes financial barriers, allowing older LGBTQI+ adults in our community to take part in the event, and aligns with Senior Pride’s goals of promoting active, healthy aging and fostering a more inclusive community. We are thrilled to participate in the TMC Meet Me Downtown 5K.”
Likewise, Team RWB says this: “We’ll be using these entries to invite community members who may not otherwise have access to events like this—helping celebrate wellness, connection, and the spirit of Tucson. It’s a powerful way to show that downtown truly is for everyone.”
“We’re thrilled to support Run Tucson’s TMC Meet Me Downtown event through our Downtown for Everyone grant,” said Crystal Moore, President & CEO, Downtown Tucson Partnership. “Events like this bring thousands of people together, promote healthy living, and make downtown more welcoming for all.”
