Falls Church, Virginia /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is honored to announce that longtime race director and running industry leader Phil Stewart has officially entrusted RRCA with the ownership and stewardship of Organizing Running Events: The Complete Guide to Staging a Successful Road Race, the definitive guide for managing road races and endurance events.
Originally authored by Phil Stewart, Organizing Running Events has served as a foundational resource for race directors across the United States and abroad for almost two decades. The book provides comprehensive guidance on all aspects of event planning, including logistics, risk management, course measurement, volunteer coordination, promotion, and much more.
“I’ve spent my career working to elevate the professionalism of road race management, and I am confident that RRCA is the ideal organization to carry this work forward,” said Stewart, who has served as the long-time race director of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and editor and publisher of Road Race Management. “The RRCA’s commitment to supporting race directors and growing the sport ensures the guide will remain an essential educational tool.”
As the new caretaker of Organizing Running Events, RRCA will continue to update and distribute the guide as part of its Race Director Certification Program and make it available to anyone interest in producing a safe event on the roads or trails. The book will remain a cornerstone of RRCA’s mission to equip race organizers of all experience levels with the knowledge and tools necessary to deliver safe, high-quality events that serve and strengthen the running community.
“We are deeply grateful to Phil for placing his trust in the RRCA,” said Jean Knaack, RRCA CEO. “His legacy and this resource will continue to shape the future of our sport for generations to come.”
