Perfect Weather and Community Spirit Fuel 3,000 Runners At J&A Racing’s Sentara Crawlin’ Crab Weekend
October 6, 2025

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA (October 6, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – J&A Racing capped off a flawless 2025 Sentara Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Weekend, hosting 3,000 participants in a celebration of running and community in the heart of Hampton.
The weekend kicked off on Saturday with a vibrant atmosphere as participants breezed through the 5K and young athletes took on the fun-filled Kids Mile. The challenge continued Sunday as runners conquered the signature Half Marathon course. The most dedicated participants tackled the “Shell Yeah Challenge,” earning extra accolades by completing both the 5K and the Half Marathon.
All courses showcased the very best of the city, guiding participants on a tour through historic downtown Hampton, along the stunning waterfront vistas of Chesapeake Ave, and past the rustic charm of Blue Gap Farm. The energy along the route was electric, with cheer groups, community members, and a powerful drum line providing constant encouragement and motivation to the runners from start to finish.
“What a weekend! The weather was ideal, the community support was overwhelming, and the runners were incredible,” said Race Directors Jerry and Amy Frostick. “Seeing everyone enjoy the course, the food, the music, and that well-earned finish line celebration is what the Crawlin’ Crab is all about. We’re already inspired for next year.”
After crossing the finish line and earning their epic swag, participants were greeted with a true post-race party. They refueled with delicious food from Freddy’s, enjoyed refreshing beers and Beach Vodka cocktails, and sampled local brews. The finish line festival was energized by the sounds of DJ Chris Keyes on Saturday and the live music of The Steals on Sunday, creating a celebratory atmosphere for runners, families, and friends to relax and share their accomplishments.
Plans for the 2026 Sentara Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon are underway already with the event taking place October 3-4, 2026 in Hampton, VA. Registration for the event is now open. For more info or to register, please visit, crawlincrabhalf.com
