One Week to Go: RunThrough Philadelphia Labor Day 5K &10K Set to Take Over the City Streets on Labor Day

August 28, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Philadelphia is preparing for a new tradition this Labor Day as thousands of runners get ready to take on the Philadelphia Labor Day 5K & 10K on September 1, 2025, starting and finishing on closed roads in front of the iconic Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The event will transform the streets of Philadelphia into a runner’s paradise, with runners of all abilities cruising past landmarks and riverside views, cheered on by crowds and music along the way. The 5K & 10K which set off at 7:30AM on Labor Day morning in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art will provide runners with the unique opportunity to run on the totally closed roads of Philly based from Eakins Oval.

Places to the 5K have been provided to runners free of charge as part of RunThrough’s initiative to break down barriers and encourage as many people to get out and be active as possible. Additionally, making the 5K free was to celebrate and mark RunThrough’s launch in the USA. RunThrough is the biggest running events company in the UK and Europe with over 10 years of experience and expertise which it is now bringing stateside.

Runners will take on an iconic closed-road course starting at the Rocky Steps, earning a finisher’s medal, chip-timed results, free race photos, and post-race snacks along the way. With music, cheering crowds, and a festival-style atmosphere, the Philadelphia Labor Day 5K & 10K promises to be a celebration of movement for everyone, whether chasing a personal best or completing a first race. Ahead of the big day, participants can collect their bibs on Friday and Sunday at Philly Runner, connecting with the city’s vibrant running community.
