More Than 1,000 runners already registered for the Pensacola 2026 Double Bridge Run

Runners from 29 states and Washington, D.C., have already registered for the 2026 Double Bridge Run, underscoring the event’s growing reputation as one of the premier destination races in the Southeast.

Pensacola, Fla. (Aug. 25, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – More than 1,000 runners from 29 states and Washington, D.C., have already registered for the 2026 Double Bridge Run, underscoring the event’s growing reputation as one of the premier destination races in the Southeast.

The Double Bridge Run, produced by Pensacola Sports, is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, with participants racing along one of the region’s most scenic courses from Pensacola through Gulf Breeze to Pensacola Beach. The event attracts athletes and their families from across the country, generating a significant economic boost through sports tourism.

“Every year, we’re excited to see runners traveling to Pensacola not just for the race, but for the full experience of our Gulf Coast,” said Pensacola Sports CEO Ray Palmer. “With registrants already coming in from nearly 30 states, the Double Bridge Run is a powerful example of how sports tourism contributes to our community’s economy.”

Sports tourism is a proven driver of economic activity for Northwest Florida, drawing visitors who spend on hotels, restaurants and attractions while attending events. In 2024 alone, sports tourism generated $44 million in direct spending in Escambia County. The Double Bridge Run continues to play a vital role in that impact, with participants and spectators turning race weekend into a destination getaway.

The race weekend features a 15K main event and a 5K run/walk, offering opportunities for athletes of all levels to experience the beauty of Pensacola Bay. Runners cross two iconic bridges with views of sparkling waters, white sand beaches and vibrant downtown Pensacola.
