Melisa Rollins and Alexey Vermeulen Claim Victory at 42nd Life Time Chequamegon MTB Festival

September 15, 2025

Sold-out field of cyclists traveled to Northern Wisconsin from across the world, representing 40 states and nine countries

Cable, Wis., (September 13, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ The 2025 Life Time Chequamegon MTB Festival, owned and produced by Life Time (NYSE: LTH), brought more than 2,800 riders to northern Wisconsin on Saturday. As one of the oldest and longest-running mountain bike races in the country, the Chequamegon MTB Festival drew cyclists from 40 states and 9 countries to experience Life Time’s adventure through the north woods.

The festival offered something for every rider, with participants choosing from three distances: the Chequamegon 40-miler, the Short & Fat 16-miler, or the kid-friendly Little Loggers. True to Life Time’s commitment to healthy way of life for all, riders ranged in age from 2 to 81 years old, creating a multigenerational celebration of movement.

“For more than 40 years we’ve been gathering friends and families of all cycling levels and abilities for an unforgettable experience in Wisconsin’s North Woods,” said Amanda Kussin, Marketing Manager for Chequamegon. “The Life Time Chequamegon MTB Festival is a beloved family tradition. We’re excited to blend cherished traditions with new experiences like our Cheqtoberfest competition, creating an even richer festival atmosphere and lasting memories for all our participants.”

The signature point-to-point 40-mile course began in downtown Hayward, Wisconsin, and followed parts of the famed American Birkebeiner Ski Trail, taking racers on forest roads and snowmobile trails with short, punchy climbs to the finish line at the Great Hall in Cable, Wis. At the finish line, riders and spectators were welcomed into the family festival atmosphere with food trucks, cold beer and live music to celebrate their accomplishments and close out the weekend.

Adding to the weekend’s community focus, the Life Time Foundation launched its “Generations in Motion” campaign during the festival, featuring an athlete panel highlighting four pairs of student-athletes and their coaches/parents who teamed up to race in the Short & Fat while raising funds for youth cycling opportunities. The initiative supports CAMBA and NICA’s local youth MTB league, Hayward Composite, furthering Life Time’s commitment to fostering healthy way of life for the next generation of cyclists in the local community.
