London T100 Triathlon Launches New Open Water Swim Event

June 5, 2025

London, UK (June 5, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has announced it will host a new open water swim event at its London T100 Triathlon weekend on 9-10 August, 2025.

Called Swim Docklands @ T100, it will take place in Royal Victoria Dock, opposite the iconic ExCel London and in the same open water where the 100km, Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons will also be held.

Participants will be able to choose between a one or two mile swim and can sign up here. Both swims will take place on Sunday 10 August after the amateur triathlon swim legs for the 100km and Olympic distances have been completed. More event specific information can be located here.

T100 weekends are about creating opportunities for amateur athletes of all levels to get involved,” explained T100 professional athlete Lucy Charles-Barclay, who lives in East London and regularly trains at the London Aquatics Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

“From experienced amateurs tackling a 100km triathlon on the same courses as the professionals, but also for individuals wanting to take part in single discipline events like this open water swim. For those that have perhaps missed out on a place in the sold-out Swim Serpentine in September or are looking for a warm up event, it’s a great opportunity to have a first go or practise your open water swimming.”

T100 weekends are ‘festivals of multisport’. As well as showcasing the top 20 professional female and top 20 professional male triathletes in the world – including multiple Olympians and World Champions – racing head-to-head over the new 100km distance (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run) on a live global broadcast feed going to 195+ territories, they also offer the chance for amateurs to have a go. Either to take on the challenge of their own 100km triathlon on the same course as the pros – or do an Olympic (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) or Junior Super Sprint (350m swim, 10km bike, 2km run) distance triathlon.
